Bulk Transfer Systems
The main function of a bulk handling and transfer system is to continuously receive and transport bulk materials to storage or units in processing plants. Secondary functions include further storage, blending and transport services.
In a typical bulk material handling system, raw materials (such as waste from drillingoperations) are received from shakers or solids pumps. The waste material is often transfered to a number of bulk storage tanks on board a drilling rig before transfered to a secondary bulk tank arrangement on a supply ship transporting the waste onshore for further treatment. A bulk system is often based on pneumatic conveyance of materials, drill cuttings, waste materials etc. The pneumtic transfer pumps is combined with the bulk transfer tank arrangement.
